This series was created by Luke Boland. It’s rare to see his work online, it is typically either in a dusty print box or left on the desktops at university. I like to think it is so that only his hardcore fans can see it. In reality he is just rubbish at presenting his work to the public. I wish he had a website which I could link but alas his photographs only seem to exist on my harddrive digitally atleast. Since the conceptual briefing a year ago he has really come out of his shell. Both as a person and a photographer, he is part of an upcoming collective called ‘GroupB11’ which involves myself also. Luke has a fantastic eye for imagery and there is rarely a photograph he takes which I dislike. It was one of his photographs of trees that really pushed me to achieve something equally as beautiful. I still to this day haven’t achieved that but I like to think that one day I will. I’ll try to bully him into making a website soon and will make another post about what we had to bribe him him to do it. He is the other half of what I like to call the Northern Couple, the other being Ian Wilkinson.

Alis Oldfield

I’ve never been very good at theory. Even though my favourite work is drenched in rich ideas I’ve never been able to produce something on par to my peers. As this example will show. This is Alis Oldfield’s project on portraiture she has an incredible talent to dismantle a traditions of a ‘sub-genre’ of photograph and really make it into her own. Not only is she an talented artist but she sports a pair of Ray-ban glasses which I’ve been admiring with jealous eyes for over a year now
